With 25 years of US operations, two New Jersey facilities and a global R&D network of 55 specialists, Fiabila offers beauty brands an end-to-end nail solution that runs from from formulation and shade development to finished, shelf-ready product.

Candice Jagut, Fiabila’s global marketing and innovation director, explains how this almost 50-year old company’s innovative, science-driven approach and local capabilities can elevate brands in the nail care category.

Happi: Fiabila has been operating globally since 1977. Can you tell us about your US presence?

Candice Jagut: Fiabila was founded in France in 1977 and entered the US market in 2001. Today, the company is the leading manufacturer of nail polish and care in the United States, operating two production and filling facilities in New Jersey, one dedicated to bulk production in Linden, the other to filling in Mine Hill, with an annual capacity of 50 million units. Fiabila USA is the group’s second-largest entity by revenue and employs approximately 70 people on the ground.

The Linden facility alone reflects a deliberate, long-term commitment to the market: between 2014 and 2017, the group invested $24 million to modernize the plant, equipping it with the same generation of machinery used in France. The result is a 40,000-square-foot production site whose theoretical output is equivalent to twice the annual consumption of the US nail market, providing brands with exceptional supply security and the ability to scale rapidly.

Behind this US footprint stands a genuinely global industrial network: 10 manufacturing sites across six countries—France, Poland, the United States, Brazil, India and Japanmaking Fiabila the only truly global player in the nail category. Each facility operates with standardized equipment and processes, ensuring that quality and safety standards are identical regardless of where a product is manufactured.

Color trends and consumer expectations vary widely between Europe, Brazil, Asia, and the United States. That’s why we develop locally, using local raw materials and our scientific customization capabilities. But our standards for safety, quality, and production processes remain identical worldwide.

Happi: How comprehensive is your support for US brands? Can you take a brand from concept to market-ready product?

Jagut:  Entirely. Fiabila provides full-service support across every stage of development: formula and shade selection, primary and secondary packaging, kit and PDQ display creation, graphic design, and packaging co-development with glass, brush, and cap manufacturers. A brand can engage Fiabila at any point in the process, whether it needs bulk formula only, a finished private-label product, or anything in between, with minimums starting at 1,500 bottles per shade.

A central element of this offering is The Smart Beauty Factory concept, Fiabila’s structured, pre-validated development program. It is built around three components: a library of proven, ready-to-industrialize formulas; the Iconic Color Book, a curated selection of 216 best-selling shades updated regularly to reflect current market trends; and packaging solutions selected for their suitability and availability. Brands can build a nail color launch in as little as three months from order to delivery, and a nail care product in four months.

The approach applies equally to new entrants building their first nail collection and to established players managing limited editions, seasonal programs, or accelerated restages. Dedicated tools, like samples, retroplanning documents, price lists, and digital catalogs, are available throughout the process.

Happi: Fiabila is known for R&D leadership. What innovations are most relevant for US brands right now?

Jagut: Fiabila’s portfolio covers three interconnected categories: nail color, special effects, and nail care, a distinction that reflects a market reality: formulas increasingly combine color or effect performance with active nail care ingredients, and the same logic now extends to removers. In the U.S. market, effects and care are particularly strategic, and both have been the focus of significant recent development

Additional care innovations of particular relevance to US brands include: SPF50+ Color Shield Nail Polish, a colored nail lacquer integrating UVA/UVB protection; Wonder’Nail Serum 2.0, a concentrated nail treatment co-developed with the scientific committee; the 4-in-1 Nail Care Remover, a mochi-gel-texture remover combining removal, exfoliation, nourishment, and nail preparation in a single step; and Micellar Spray-On Nail Primer, the first alcohol-free, water-based nail primer using micellar technology to optimize polish adhesion.

Happi: Fiabila will have a dedicated presence alongside MakeUp in New York this September. What can US brands expect?

Jagut: On September 16 and 17, from 8am to 7pm, Fiabila will host a dedicated event at Hudson Yards, running alongside MakeUp in New York. This curated, invitation-only gathering, overlooking the iconic Vessel and just steps away from the Javits Center, is designed to give brands and prospects a direct, hands-on experience of Fiabila’s latest collections and the full scope of its product development capabilities.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the North America team in person, explore current innovations across color, effects, UV gel, and care, and discuss specific project needs, from a standalone SKU to a full collection brief. It is a working meeting as much as a showcase, and the format reflects how Fiabila approaches client relationships: as a technical partner invested in the success of each brand it works with.

Further details on the event format and registration will be available shortly. Brands interested in attending or in connecting with Fiabila’s North America team ahead of September are encouraged to book a slot directly at [email protected] or through www.fiabila.com.
